One or two spoonfuls of Raw Cacao Powder can transform many recipes into healthy chocolate treats. Add to smoothies, raw cakes and desserts… and of course raw chocolate.
For a quick raw chocolatey fix:
Mix the following ingredients together in a bowl with a spoon: Your favourite nut or seed butter (almond, brazil, hazelnut, tahini), raw honey or agave syrup, a pinch of salt, a couple of teaspoons of Raw Cacao Powder. Eat as it is, or spread on rice cakes or flax crackers. Delicious!
Contrary to common belief, cacao does not contain caffeine. It does however contain another stimulant, unique to cacao, called Theobromine. Theobromine can have a similar positive effect to caffeine, but not as strong and more long lasting. It will also not cause palpitations and headaches like caffeine can.
