Original Vegan Burgamix Burger Mix 500g

£9.49

Original vegan burger mix is one of our best sellers. Originally called 'Burgamix' and once packaged by Direct Foods amongst others, we're one of the few places you can still buy this original vegan burger mix in new, food-safe bags.

It is great on its own, simply mix with water and then cook on a baking tray or in the pan. It is seasoned and delicious but versatile so should you wish to add your own seasonings/beans/pulses then you can flavour your mix however you wish.

It can also be made into a vegan corned beef pie or hash by mixing with mashed potatoes & served with vegan gravy. We love to make the burgers up in batches and then freeze them to cook when they are needed. This works out far cheaper than other frozen vegan burgers.

Burger mix comes complete in a resealable food safe airtight bag to keep your mix fresh and tasty.

    made us sick

This binds together and is moist. The taste initially was good but way too spicy. The next day we were both suffering from indigestion, loose stools and detox like symptoms and a shift in the way the mucus was flowing. After about three days, we had another burger and the same thing happened again. Then I used some as a base to add my own ingredients, like cooked black beans and ground up quorn swedish style meatballs, to see if 'diluting' the mix would help and today I feel SO BAD where our insides are so bad that it affects our heads. Like a flush out of whatever. I looked up the spices which are in it and most of them detox the liver, thin mucus, stimulate gastric juices and there are anti microbial activities in some of them. There are too many detox spices in this mix and too high a quantity.
I don't remember the taste being so strongly spicy years ago, but I do remember always getting an upset stomach after consuming them. I remembered this after the second burger and diarrhea. Sadly a waste of money as I have had to throw the rest away. I will stick to my own home made burgers in future. I only wanted a base mix to add things to it.
